The Egyptian diet consists of grain primarily, but the occasion of red meats is a treat to them. The Egyptian fisher man and farmers sold there catch and harvest to commoners. They traded and bought from them, but they did not have much live stock since the land was for farming they didn't have enough room to let them have land to eat. That is why red meat is a treat to them.
The Nile perch shown above is a species that was introduced as a species for fish industries, it was a fish that was made to fish for food. Other fish in the Nile are small and bony unlike the Nile perch reaching 175 pounds in weight, it is one of the biggest fish species in the Nile. Introduced in the 1930's it never had a big population until the 1970's. Today it is a popular fish to fish for if your lucky enough you can catch a big one like shown in above this article. That is why the Nile is a good place to go fishing and why locals like it there.
